Common questions

Answers drawn from Ironhorse's published information and standard railway practice. Project specifics are confirmed in the bid.

What makes transit track different?

Clearances, platforms, overhead systems, public interfaces, and short closures. Equipment has to fit the right of way, and the work has to be complete and clear before service resumes.

What transit-specific equipment does Ironhorse have?

An MKIV tamper with the Jupiter II system designed in-house for transit rights of way, and a ballast regulator built with a transit profile.

Can the work be done in overnight closures?

Yes. Closure planning covers access, protection, staging, production, and clearing the track for the operating authority before the first service.
